NatGeo reveals how spotted hyenas living in matriarchal societies, are fantastic mothers, and intelligent hunters. I acted as a consultant with fact-checking the graphics in this article (beautiful drawings) and my research on hyena problem-solving is described. |

Dr. Marc Bekoff describes my research on problem-solving and fitness in female spotted hyenas: "I found this to be an outstanding and important study showing what can be accomplished from long-term research on identified individuals by a team of dedicated researchers". Our results from this study suggested that there may be fitness trade-offs related to innovative ability. |
